Test Center
The Test Center of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank – the OeNB Test Center – tests whether banknote processing machines and banknote authentication devices meet the uniform standards of the ECB. Moreover, it cooperates with the Coins National Analysis Centre (CNAC) of Münze Österreich AG in testing coin processing machines. The OeNB Test Center cooperates closely with the machine manufacturers to steadily improve processing and authentication devices.

Collecting data
Professional cash handlers are required to report data about the processing and recirculation of euro banknotes to the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB). This information enables the European Central Bank (ECB) and the OeNB to monitor compliance with EU directives and ECB decisions and to oversee developments in the cash cycle.
