Climate-related financial disclosures by the OeNB

The transition toward a climate-neutral economy requires comprehensive efforts from all of society, market participants, governments as well as  central banks.

In February 2021, the Eurosystem central banks announced their commitment to start making annual climate-related disclosures for their euro-denominated non-monetary policy portfolios (NMPPs). As part of the Eurosystem, the OeNB is committed to doing its part. By disclosing information about its decarbonization path, the OeNB contributes to increasing market transparency.

In March 2023, the OeNB released its first such disclosures covering the year 2022. The disclosures are based on the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

For an overview of the OeNB’s sustainability activities, see the OeNB’s Annual Report, which includes a sustainability report.
