Green Finance Conference: Science and Practice for Green Finance
– Save the dateBuilding bridges for financing a sustainable transition
Green finance is going through turbulent times. While the urgency and financing requirements for the transition to a sustainable economy and society are increasing, other priorities are dominating the political agenda. Reason enough to rethink strategies and adapt them where necessary.
From May 15–16 the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) invites you to join the conference “Building Bridges for Financing a Sustainable Transition”. The event is organized together with the Environment Agency Austria, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management* and the environmental agencies from Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. This conference is part of the conference series “Science and Practice for Green Finance” initiated by the German-speaking environmental agencies within the DACH-LIE-LUX Green Finance Working Group.
The event will feature an exciting programme of presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions on the latest scientific findings and regulatory developments in Europe and Austria. Experts will present current research findings and discuss possible solutions for the successful implementation of legal frameworks focussing on climate and biodiversity. A session with an international green finance focus will be dedicated to the specific challenges of countries in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The aim is to build bridges between science and practice, politics and administration. Among other things, gaps in knowledge and data will be identified and the need for instruments and practical implementation aids will be discussed.
You can find the current program on the website of the Environment Agency Austria.
