EIB-OeNB-Senior Leadership Forum on CESEE
Save the dateAccelerating Investment in CESEE by Completing the Single Market and Delivering on the Digital and Climate Transitions
European economies, especially those in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CESEE), have faced various economic shocks in recent years. Going forward, it is crucial for Europe, and particularly CESEE, to focus on completing and deepening the European single market as well as on promoting innovation, digitalization and the green transition. This will help the countries in the region to build on their strengths and reinforce their global economic position.
The EIB Investment Survey among approximately 12,000 firms in the EU sheds light on the status of investment and investment sentiment in Europe, including the CESEE region. The most recent results of the survey suggest that, in contrast to the rest of the EU, in CESEE, compliance with different standards and regulations is perceived as a significant risk and concern for a vast majority of firms. This is particularly true for regulations related to climate policies.
Against this background, economic experts from the EIB, the OeNB and CESEE business leaders will discuss the challenges ahead, including, in particular, the completion of the single market as well as the digital and climate transitions.
