Direct Investment Characteristics (FDI Characteristics)

Description
Direct investments (FDI) are cross-border investments in companies in which the investor holds more than 10% of the voting capital. Above this threshold, it is assumed that the investor has a lasting involvement in the enterprise. This data set focuses on the characteristics of Austrian companies involved in direct investments. In contrast to the data sets “Direct Investment - (FDI Inward) / (FDI Outward)”, which show relational dynamics, this data set focuses on the observed entities.

Unit of analysis
Austrian companies, banks and other legal entities that are involved in some form of direct investment.
