The negotiated standard wage rate index 06 (base: annual average 2006 = 100) measures the development of minimum wages in Austria. This index is an important gauge for wage bargaining. Together with other measures for wage and price developments, it is a key, up-to-date economic indicator.
The index base is 2016 = 100 (as of January 2017).
The chaining factor with the index 2006 = 100 (January 2007 to December 2016): Negotiated Standard Wage Index total: 1,273; white collar workers: 1,282; blue collar workers: 1,299 and public sector employees: 1,216.
The chaining factor with the index 1986 = 100 (December 2006 and before): Negotiated Standard Wage Index total: 1,888; white collar workers: 1,928; blue collar workers: 1,992 and public sector employees: 1,687.
