Description:

This table shows trade sales and new car registrations, which are key economic indicators and a major expenditure component of GDP. Moreover, the CPI and HICP positions “vehicle purchases” are weighted on the basis of new car registration statistics.
The data on vehicles presented in this table refer to the registration of new cars only.

Trade (and repairs): Companies working in a field classified in Section G “wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles, motorcycles” of ÖNACE 2008, the Austrian Statistical Classification of Economic Activities.
New car registration statistics: Monthly secondary statistics derived from registration data files submitted daily to Statistics Austria by the Austrian Association of Insurance Companies.
