Ribs

The side walls of the body are made of thin strips of maple wood bent into shape. Four corner blocks, a top and a bottom block as well as linings are glued to the ribs to improve stability and to provide a larger gluing surface for attaching the ribs. The finished rib garland is then glued to the belly and back.
